ABOUT THE ROLE
As our Business Development Associate, you will be the frontline of Semporro's client acquisition engine. This is not a support role. You will own outreach, pipeline, and lead qualification end to end. You will research and identify potential clients across service lines, run structured outbound campaigns across LinkedIn, email, and phone, and generate qualified discovery call opportunities for the leadership team.
This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is highly motivated, target-driven, and eager to learn the business of digital marketing from the inside. You will work closely with Semporro's founders and senior team, giving you exceptional visibility and a fast growth path.

Location Preference:
We strongly prefer candidates based in Bengaluru, India. This role involves close coordination with the founding team and may include in-person collaboration at our Bengaluru office. Candidates open to relocating to Bengaluru will also be considered.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Research and build targeted prospect lists by service line using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo.io, and manual research techniques
- Execute structured outbound outreach across LinkedIn, email, and phone — crafting personalised messages tailored to each prospect's industry, company size, and likely pain points
- Maintain and rigorously update a CRM pipeline with accurate deal stages, call notes, follow-up schedules, and contact information
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads against Semporro's Ideal Client Profile (ICP) and pass warm, briefed leads to the leadership team for discovery calls
- Book and confirm qualified discovery meetings; tracked as the primary KPI for this role
- Track weekly outreach metrics (emails sent, LinkedIn requests, response rates, meetings booked, show rates) and share structured reporting with leadership
- Draft and iterate on outreach templates, cold email sequences, and LinkedIn messaging frameworks
- Support in the preparation of proposal summaries and capability documents tailored to specific prospect segments
- Identify relevant industry events, LinkedIn communities, Slack groups, and founder forums as supplementary pipeline channels
- Continuously deepen your understanding of Semporro's services and the digital marketing landscape to speak with confidence to prospects
Requirements
Must-Have
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English as you will be the first impression of Semporro for most prospects
- Comfortable initiating and sustaining conversations with strangers across email, LinkedIn, and phone without being prompted
- Basic understanding of digital marketing concepts. Knowing the difference between SEO, paid ads, and content marketing is the floor
- Self-motivated and target-oriented where you set your own daily rhythm and hold yourself to output goals
- Organised and detail-oriented. You update CRM records, follow up on schedule, and do not let leads go cold
- Based in or willing to relocate to Bengaluru, India
Good to Have
- Prior internship or work experience in an agency, SaaS company, or B2B sales environment
- Hands-on experience with outreach tools such as Apollo.io, HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or Lemlist
- Understanding of D2C e-commerce or B2B SaaS as client verticals
- Experience writing cold email or LinkedIn outreach copy that has achieved measurable responses
- Familiarity with CRM systems (HubSpot, Zoho, Pipedrive, or similar)
Compensation & Incentive Structure
Fixed Salary
₹25,000 – ₹35,000 per month, commensurate with experience and demonstrated capability during the hiring process.

Performance Incentive — Meeting Bonus (Tier 1)
Added incentive per qualified meeting booked. A 'qualified meeting' is defined as:

- The prospect fits Semporro's Ideal Client Profile (right company size, vertical, and decision-maker level)
- The meeting was held for a minimum of 20 minutes
- The meeting has been marked as a valid discovery call by the leadership team
During the first 90 days (ramp period), the monthly meeting bonus is capped at ₹6,000 to allow for a structured onboarding period. After 90 days, the cap is removed.
Performance Incentive — Deal Close Bonus (Tier 2)
One-time bonus for each deal that closes from a lead you originated, regardless of who closes it. You benefit when the meetings you book actually convert.
